The Grand Hotel is a famous landmark in the hill station town of Nuwara Eliya; a mock Tudor mansion built over 100 years ago. It retains the feeling of an old English country club, particularily as it is situated next to the golf course and the famous Hill Club. Although not as grand as the name suggests, it's still one of the best places to stay in the area. The 156 bedrooms have been refurbished and those overlooking the golf course have the best views. Guests have a choice of restaurants and bars from the formal dining room to the more cosy public bar.
