Set on a former coconut plantation a stone's throw from a dazzling beach is one of Sri Lanka's most sophisticated boutique hotels. Designed by the iconic Sri Lanka architect Geoffrey Bawa and now extensively redesigned and managed by Sri Lanka's lifestyle guru Shanth Fernando it is a complete treat to the senses. There are 15 individually designed rooms and suites scattered around the property, all modern amenities and great services. The food is particularly good. A narrow-gauge railway runs at the bottom of the garden - fortunately most people find it adds to the charm of the hotel rather than being a disturbance. We think it makes an excellent choice for honeymooners or romantics.
