Umaid Bhawan Palace - Jodhpur

With a commanding view of the 'Blue City', this Art Deco palace is still home to the Maharaja of Jodhpur. It used to be one of the largest private residences in the world, but is now divided into the Maharaja's private residence, a beautiful museum and the deluxe hotel. Built in the 1930s, the style combines Art Deco and Eastern influences and it has been carefully maintained over the years. The style and ambiance are grand from the moment you arrive in the reception area with its cupola a staggering 105 feet above you. Don't miss the indoor swimming pool, the original mosaics are stunning. An outdoor pool has been added recently. Try tea overlooking the lawns or a drink in the bar complete with hunting trophies and imagine you have stepped back in time.
