The Garden Route

Set on a 700 hectare estate, the family-owned Kurland Hotel is perched on balmy Plettenberg Bay with its Mediterranean climate. The boutique property offers 12 suites plus a grand villa for exclusive use adjoining a polo ground. Four-poster beds, antiques and glorious chintzes evoke a more gracious age while the courtyard suites have water features and private plunge pools. Vases of fresh roses, roaring fires and charming staff create an enveloping ambience that we loved. The restaurant offers sensational cuisine and dinners can be arranged al fresco all over the estate.

Kurland Hotel sits on The Garden Route, regarded as the gateway to the eastern and western cape, and has wealth of local activities to offer. Visit the nearby Bramon Wine Estate as well as the world’s first free-roaming primate sanctuary. Horse lovers can ride along the surf on the beach or learn polo, ‘the sport of kings’.
