Aureum Palace Inle is a traditionally Burmese resort located on the eastern banks of Inle Lake. The style of the hotel is striking and typical of hotels in Myanmar, with huge dark teak wood pillars in the entrance lobby, and dark wooden walkways and décor following throughout the resort.

The 65 rooms are separated into three categories, however all are the same size, layout and design. The rooms are arranged in to three rows facing the lake, with those at the front giving the best views. The rooms are nicely spacious, with a large indoor seating area, private balcony, and a free-standing teak bath in the large bathrooms. There is a moderate sized swimming pool and restaurant with inside and outside dining.

The resort offers many activities to its guests including lantern lighting and visiting a local night market, as well as its own karaoke room and nightclub(!). The resort isn’t for all tastes, but the staff are attentive and welcoming.
