The Shinta Mani Angkor is a boutique hotel created by one of the world’s most lauded hotel designers (and one of our favourites), Bill Bensley.

Located in the cultural heart of Siem Reap, the hotel showcases 39 state-of-the art designed rooms and public spaces in an Angkorian-inspired design. Style and design are at the core of this hotel. The combined effect of Bensley’s tongue-in-cheek and quirky design details create an eclectic and chic boutique hotel that exudes peace and tranquillity. Each of the sleek black and white colour-coordinated rooms come with minimalist bathrooms and a rain shower. The standard rooms are comfortable but rather compact.

One would imagine that, due to the size of the property, there would have many more rooms, but Bensley has managed to keep the exclusive vibe, and walking through the hotel gives the feeling that one is walking around a modern temple complex, surrounded by grand palatial pillars and long polished concrete hallways. Artwork dotted throughout the hotel showcase black and white photographs of Angkor Wat, complimenting the modern, minimalist and chic interiors, and handcrafted lamps and accessories add a traditional Khmer touch. There is also a small pool in the centre of the hotel and relaxing spa to unwind in.

Shinta Mani Angkor has a foundation which is located within the hotel and is a leader in responsible tourism through its not for profit component, the Shinta Mani Foundation. The core focus is on the three areas of education, small business start-ups and health care for those unable to get full education and it's inspiring to see. Guests of Shinta Mani Angkor are also able to use the facilities at Shinta Mani Angkor – Bensley Collection (the first property directly operated by Bensley) and the Shinta Mani Shack, both located just two minutes’ walk from Shinta Mani Angkor.
