Located on the edge of Shuhe historic old town, Banyan Tree is a sprawling but very pleasant resort from this worldwide hotel chain. Although more resort like than our usual choice, the views of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain from rooms and public areas are unparalleled. The Chinese design, though slightly contrived, provides a strong sense of place. Rooms offer in-room dining but the resort also features a specialty Chinese restaurant, all day dining restaurant, bar, library, and spa. Shuhe Old Town can be reached on foot and the hotel will be more than happy to arrange a range of excursions.
