Overland Tibet & Nepal... From Lhasa to Kathmandu

A more adventurous itinerary which begins in the busy city of Kathmandu and the surrounding area before flying to Lhasa. After a few days exploring the many sites of the city and surrounding area, begin driving back to Nepal. The journey takes a few days and includes a day visit to Everest Base Camp before crossing the border into Nepal. You will have a final day to relax before returning to the UK. The accommodation is basic and some of the journeys long but the unique landscape and culture is, we feel, worth it.

This tour is purely a suggested itinerary; it can be booked as it is or alternatively used as a starting point for creating your own ideal bespoke trip to Tibet and Nepal. Day 1 - Dwarika's Hotel - Kathmandu
On arrival in Kathmandu, transfer to the hotel.
Day 2 - Dwarika's Hotel - Kathmandu
Guided sightseeing of Kathmandu City, Swayambhuath Stupa and Patan.
Day 3 - Tsedang Hotel - Tsedang
Fly from Kathmandu to Lhasa and transfer to Tsedang.
Day 4 - Tsedang Hotel - Tsedang
Sightseeing of Tsedang
Day 5 - Tibet Hotel - Lhasa
Drive to Lhasa
Day 6 - Tibet Hotel - Lhasa
Say sightseeing in Lhasa including Potala Palace and Jorkhang Square.
Day 7 - Tibet Hotel - Lhasa
Visit to Sera Monastery, Drepung Monastery and the former summer palace of the Dalai lama.
Day 8 - Gyantse Hotel - Gyantse
Drive to Gyangtse
Day 9 - Shigatse Hotel - Shigatse
Sightseeing of Gyangtse. Afternoon drive to Shigatse.
Day 10 - Snow Leopard Hotel - Tingri
Drive to Tingri.
Day 11 - Snow Leopard Hotel - Tingri
Day visit to Everest Base Camp.
Day 12 - Zhangmu Hotel - Zhangmu
Continue to drive to Zhangmu.
Day 13 - Dwarika's Hotel - Kathmandu
Drive back across the border to Kathmandu.
Day 14 - Dwarika's Hotel - Kathmandu
Day at leisure in Kathmandu.
Day 15 - In transit.
Return flight home from Kathmandu.
