Most rooms in the hotel have a clear unobstructed view of the valley, and the best rooms back directly on to it. The rooms are minimalist in style and comforting with colourful furnishings. Ijen Resort & Villas’ location is what really sets it apart, and it is the perfect place if you are looking to trek to the crater of Mount Ijen; the spectacular active volcano with its bright yellow sulphuric ore that burns blue at night, and its turquoise lake of acid. Ijen Resort & Villas is just over an hours’ drive from the summit. For slightly less vigorous tours, there are plenty of hiking and cycling trails in the area that take you into local towns and though rice terraces, where you will see farmers and rice planters at work.
