Plataran Komodo Resort & Spa, set on its own private beach just north of Labuan Bajo harbour, is the best hotel and restaurant in town, providing exquisite luxury, privacy and personal service. Arriving at this hotel is the start of something special; you are collected from the airport by staff in traditional Flores dress, driven 15 minutes to your very own speed boat which is waiting in the harbour and then whisked away to a private jetty which leads up to the hotel. The views are stunning and the villas are understated but stylish, staying true to local fashion, with antique artefacts in each room and traditional Indonesian interior design. With a beach side pool and a quaint spa (equipped with an award winning Balinese masseuse) this is a wonderful location to relax after a day boat tripping around the islands. This hotel also charters 3 private overnight boats, and a yacht for day trips.
