Indonesia: Best time to go

Indonesia has a tropical climate, with year round temperatures averaging 31°C. The dry season between May and September, when humidity is low, is the best time to visit; there may be occasional rainfall but this is usually at night or in the very early morning. From June to August there are usually refreshing breezes all day long. High humidity can be expected during the wet season - between the months of October and April - with the most rain falling between December and February. The central mountain area is typically cooler than the lower coastal areas throughout the year and especially at night.
