Ladakh has one of the most dramatic landscapes in the whole of India; a plateau surrounded by Himalayan peaks. The culture is no less extraordinary with the predominant religion being Buddhism, there are numerous monasteries and a series of colourful festivals each summer. One of the best ways to appreciate this region is on foot and this itinerary includes plenty of opportunities to do just this. Staying in local village homes and campsites there are walks, monasteries to sightsee and leisurely picnics to enjoy in the surrounding countryside. Each day's activities have a certain amount of flexibility and a private guide is always on hand to discuss your plans. This holiday is purely a suggested itinerary. It can be booked as is or alternatively used as a starting point for creating your own bespoke trip to Ladakh.
