This leisurely journey travels through 3 of Indonesia's main islands; Lombok, Bali & Java taking in the best they have to offer whilst staying at our favourite hotels. This trip begins in Lombok where the pace is an unhurried one. Spend four nights at The Oberoi Lombok where you can relax on the pristine beach leading into the turquoise water. It is perfect for snorkelling and day trips to the Gili Isles. From here take a catamaran across to Bali and transfer to Ubud, the spiritual centre of Bali. Bambu Indah captures the essence of Ubud with 7 restored antique tribal houses with open air bathrooms. Alternatively stay at COMO Shambhala, a truly heavenly spa retreat set in stunning tropical grounds. Then travel north to Pemuteran to spend 4 nights at Puri Ganesha. This delightfully bohemian hotel is run by the former Egyptologist Diana von Cranach and her charming husband Gusti. If Puri Ganesha was a car it would be a classic yellow convertible Beatle. This is the perfect place to relax and the four private one, two and three bedroom thatched villas each with their own pool overlook the beach with lawns that run down to the sand. Finish the journey by flying to Yogyakarta to see the awe-inspiring Borobudur temple, as well as the Prambanan temples, both of which give the Temples of Angkor a run for their money. Yogyakarta is fascinating city and worlds apart from Bali & Lombok. Both hotels are fantastic, with Amanjiwo being on the more luxurious side and it directly overlooks Borobudur.
