The Spring River Resort is an idyllic little rustic property deep in lush greenery of a national conservation area, with the little village of Ban Tiou and Kong Lor cave - one of the world's largest - to explore nearby. The dozen or so bungalows are in the traditional style with woven bamboo mat walls but with modern roofing to keep the rain out in wet season. Half face the well-tended garden while the other half face the river, jungle and misty lime karst panorama. It is managed and staffed mainly by local women who give a warm welcome and prepare hearty Laotian and also some western options.
