Adam's Peak

At 2,243 metres tall, Adam's Peak is well known for the Sri Pada "sacred footprint", a 1.8 metres rock formation near the summit. With history spanning back thousands of years, Buddhists believe the footprint is that of Buddha, in Hindu tradition that of Shiva and in Muslim and Christian tradition the footprints of Adam. The traditional way to climb the peak is by starting your ascend at 2am. The climb up takes approximately 4 hours. Once you have reached the peak, you can watch a beautiful sunrise before beginning your descend.
