Haridwar
Haridwar, set on the banks of the Ganges River, is one of the most important pilgrimage sites for Hindus and, like it’s sister city of Varanasi, is a fantastically engaging destination. Smaller than Varanasi in size it can also perhaps be said to be a little less intense, but with it’s Himalayan foothills location it’s scenically beautiful and we recommend dipping your toes in for a few nights. And if pampering is on the list then the luxury mountain spa resort of Ananda in The Himalayas is a short drive away.
