Satpura Wildlife Reserve
The Satpura Wildlife Reserve is a unique and highly diverse biosphere reserve which is believed to be one of India's best kept secrets. Less crowded than other parks in Madhya Pradesh, Satpura offers a rare true wilderness experience. A great number of animals, including the elusive leopard and many grazing animals, are sited here, in addition to tigers. Satpura is also a birdwatcher's paradise; the Denwa river and an abundance of trees within the park are home to numerous resident bird species, some of which are extremely rare. Guides are trained naturalists who offer guests an insight into all aspects of local wildlife and nature, and are not merely tiger trackers. The reserve also offers some stunning topography, characterised by deep gorges and ravines, beautiful nallahs, steep rocky hillocks and the rugged Satpura Range (which rarely cease to fill the background view).
