Hotels Worldwide opened its first Retreat & Spa, W Maldives in 2006. A sophisticated luxury playground set in the North Ari Atoll, W Retreat & Spa offers exclusivity, escape, and indulgence. It features 78 private villas, each with its own plunge pool and sundeck. Six gourmet eateries offering everything from pizza to sushi and Mongolian barbecue. The cocktail bar is the Maldives only subterranean bar and nightclub, literally located 15 feet beneath the island. There are lots of optional excursions and a diving centre.
