The first truly mobile luxury camp in India, ‘The Ultimate Travelling Camp’ offers the opportunity to experience a variety of magnificent locations as it travels across India according to the best season and festivals. It all started at the Kumbh Mela in January 2013, during which time The Ultimate Travelling Camp hosted the only luxury tented camp in Allahabad. This nomadic camp visits remote locations in India where there is no luxury accommodation – if any accommodation at all – meaning that you can take the luxury with you and not have to compromise comfort for the experience. Champa Camp at Thiksey is located in the Leh Valley and pays homage to the Ladakhi and Buddhist wat of life. Cultural attractions and an off beat natural surroundings, this is the perfect place to come and immerse oneself in authentic local culture.

At Chamba Camp, the exquisitely furnished tents exude old-world charm, reminiscent of the Raj, combined with outstanding luxury - all the tents come equipped with home comforts you would expect to find in a luxury hotel room. Whilst they vary in shape and size, each tent is spacious and comprises of a bedroom, en-suite bathroom and a veranda area, and the large windows allow guests to soak up the beautiful and remote surroundings. They are also temperature controlled so air-conditioning and heating can be switched on for your maximum comfort.

Dining at the camp is an exceptional experience, guests can choose where to dine, be it in the restaurant, in the organic vegetable garden or by the fish pond, each location provides a special experience. The camp chef conjures up culinary delights in the wilderness of Ladakh, such as delicious family recipes, as well as fusion style cuisine. The food is simply outstanding!
