The Okavango Delta

Camp Okavango is located on the romantically named Nxaragha Island in the North East of Moremi. This hidden treasure, in the heart of the permanent Okavango Delta, assures its guests of a great year-round water wilderness experience. Camp Okavango’s main area is light and airy and is made up of interconnected walkways linking up two lounge areas, a dining room, library, self-service bar and curio shop. Sweeping ramps lead to the lower level deck with two open-air fire pits and comfortable seating areas to relax and take in the delightful surrounding landscape. There is a third deck with a rim flow swimming pool and thatched lounge deck for those warm summer days. With its open-air design and elevated position, the solar powered Camp Okavango is an eco-sensitive lodge which is sensitively captures the essence of the Okavango Delta.

Camp Okavango accommodates just twenty-four guests. There are 11 secluded and spacious thatched suites and one Family suite consisting of two bedrooms, each with an en-suite bathroom. The safari tents are built on individual raised wooden platforms and set above the thick Okavango Delta vegetation. The sliding doors open onto a private open-air viewing deck for those wishing to sit and enjoy the magnificent surrounding views.

Water-based activities are led by experienced professional guides who expertly navigate guests through the many meandering, reed-lined waterways. Alternatively, enjoy the endless channels from the comfort of a modern motorboat or glide silently through the giant reeds and waterways in a traditional mokoro. There are also guided walks on offer which are a great way to enjoy the wildlife up close and to stretch the legs!
