Originally built in 2001 but completely re-designed and renovated in 2011 by a leading interior decorator, Habaraduwa House has the pedigree and allure to make it Sri Lanka’s most exceptional beach side villa. Located on a beach near Weligama not far from Galle, this impeccably decorated property has four en-suite bedrooms (two with outdoor showers), a games room, a long swimming pool with chic lounge chairs and a soft sandy beach literally right in front of you. The house has been designed as a series of airy stand-alone buildings, which house the huge living room, flanked on each side by bedrooms and a dining Ambalama (pavilion), all of which face the ocean. There is also a butler, a cook, two housekeeping staff and a pool boy to make sure you and your family or friends are well looked after. Ampersand’s MD, James Jayasundera visited recently and in his opinion Habaraduwa House one of the “the best villas in Sri Lanka”.
