Emily Gillman
General Manager
From a young age, Emily has always travelled, her parents seeing great value in experiencing new cultures, landscapes and wildlife. She is an explorer at heart and is always eager to experience as much of the world as she can; venturing to new countries, following a map, sampling foreign cuisine and meeting people from all walks of life, this is when she is at her happiest. Over the years Emily has worked in various roles, her most prominent was managing live events for the global technology giant, Samsung. However, travel was always at the back of her mind, and after a trip to Borneo to see the Orangutans, her long-held inclination was reignited. In 2015 Emily embarked on an incredible 5-month expedition to Southeast Asia, exploring eight countries in this region.
Indonesia is Emily’s favourite country; dramatic volcanoes, pristine beaches and gin-clear waters, beautiful ancient temples and emerald green rice paddies captured her imagination from the very first time she visited. But on her subsequent trips she has been blown away by the warmth and friendliness of the local people, and is fascinated at how their ancestor’s traditions and religion still play a significant part in their daily lives.
