India & Southern Africa Specialist
Hattie grew up in rural Kent but was inspired to travel at a young age from friends at her international school and childhood trips across Africa, the Americas and Europe.
After she left school she began her independent adventures, volunteering in northern Senegal for two months before embarking on a trail across Southeast Asia and living in Melbourne for a year. She then moved to Montreal for university, where she discovered Quebec’s unique French influences and learnt how to survive -40⁰C winters!
Travel has given Hattie some of her most precious and outlandish memories, from enjoying sundowners surrounded by elephants in Botswana’s majestic Okavango Delta, to being interviewed on Azerbaijani national TV, and sleeping under the stars in the Sahara Desert. Her philosophy with travel is to immerse yourself as much in the local culture as possible and to always try to learn the basics of the local language – it goes a long way in showing appreciation for local customs and always seems to pay its way back in valuable tips from the locals.
