Meno a Kwena
Makgadikgadi Pans
Midway between the Okavango Delta and the spectacular Central Kalahari Game Reserve lies the quirky and charming Meno a Kwena, providing guests with a totally unique African wildlife experience.
Each of the nine luxurious guest tents have been lovingly designed to capitalise on the commanding views overlooking a river often flooded with elephants and other animals – so you can watch game without leaving your bedroom. Between May and November, Meno is perfectly situated to view Southern Africa’s largest zebra and wildebeest migration.
From this gorgeous camp, you can head off to tour the Kalahari and the stunning open plains and desert wildlife of the Makgadikgadi Pans National Park. At both reserves, desert-adapted meerkats and antelopes are regularly seen, while lions and cheetahs can sometimes be spotted in the Kalahari.
Alternately, you could enjoy fascinating walking tours with indigenous local people, providing an amazing insight into their culture, the area’s native plants and spectacular wildlife.
There is also a ‘floating hide’ which is an additional activity that enhances the wildlife viewing opportunities right in front of camp. The hide offers guests a close up experience of wildlife activity in and around the river.
