The Okavango evokes images of still waters, waterlilies with a back drop of elephant and ridiculously beautiful sunsets – a dreamy idyll and the perfect spot in which to indulge in the romance of a safari of a lifetime.

This romance-filled safari begins at the magical Magkadigkadi Pans and its mystical salt pans. A light aircraft hop from Maun transports you to San Camp. Dine out under the stars a deux enjoying world-class cuisine and a bottle of champagne, or simply revel in the remoteness and beauty of the never-ending horizons. Enjoy walking, driving or quad biking during the sunny days and relax in the evenings around an open fire or watch the sun go down in the ‘Yoga’ pavilion.

From one romantic setting to the next, you will be transported by charter to Moremi Camp for a few days of incredible game viewing during the day with evenings spent luxuriating in the delightful honeymoon suite, complete with muslin mosquito nets and champagne on ice.

Journey onwards to the tranquility of the Okavango Delta. Your stay at Camp Okavango promises to be peaceful and serene as you glide through the silent and intricate waterways in a mokoro (dug out canoe) or cruise on a motor boat enjoying the many birds and wallowing hippos. At night, the gorgeous honeymoon tented suite is as romantic as it is grand with plenty of room for private dining. After another hop on a light aircraft, your journey concludes at Chobe Game Lodge, staying in a suite with its own private plunge pool, sitting room and stunning views over the Chobe River.

Itinerary details

Day 1 - San Camp - Makgadikgadi Pans
Early morning flight from Johannesburg to Maun International Airport (scheduled 2-hour flight). Arrive in Maun and light aircraft transfer to San Camp. Late afternoon Safari drive (time permitting).
Day 2 - San Camp - Makgadikgadi Pans
Morning and afternoon game drives, cultural safaris or quad biking.
Day 3 - Camp Moremi - Moremi
Light aircraft transfer San Camp – Xakanaxa airstrip. Afternoon game drive.
Day 4 - Camp Moremi - Moremi
Morning and afternoon game drive.
Day 5 - Camp Okavango - The Okavango Delta
Light aircraft transfer Xakanaxa airstrip – Camp Okavango. Afternoon mokoro canoe or boat cruise.
Day 6 - Camp Okavango - The Okavango Delta
Afternoon mokoro canoe or boat cruise.
Day 7 - Chobe Game Lodge - Chobe and Savute
Light aircraft transfer Camp Okavango to Kasane and road transfer to Chobe Game Lodge. Afternoon game drive.
Day 8 - Chobe Game Lodge - Chobe and Savute
Morning and afternoon game drives.
Day 9 - In transit.
Time permitting, morning game drive then road transfer to Kasane International airport for scheduled flight to Johannesburg and connecting overnight flight home.

Getting to Amanpulo from Manila was very simple and the beach was the most beautiful I’d ever been on; pristine white sand, not a single piece of rubbish in sight.
