Places of interest in Mozambique
Mozambique is a land of staggering natural beauty and intrigue. Its 2,500 km of unspoilt and picture-perfect coastline make it a wildly exotic place to visit. For the beach-lover, there can be no better place to soak up the sea and sun without the crowds. For those interested in history and culture, Mozambique is brimming with the vestiges of Portuguese culture intermingled with a flamboyant and colourful African culture – an African Algarve without the tourists! For the adventure lover, snorkelling, diving and sailing are superb with Mozambique boasting some of the finest marine wildlife in the world. Mozambique is around six times the size of England and has a relatively small population of around 28 million, most of whom inhabit the mainland in and around the buzzy capital, Maputo. Mozambique’s hotspots lie in and around the south and far north of the country, predominantly around the Bazaruto and Quirimbas Archipelagos. Mozambique is a magical and fascinating country which works perfectly in combination with a safari in Botswana, Zambia or South Africa for the ultimate beach-safari holiday.
