Serra Cafema
Skeleton Coast
The remoteness and sheer beauty of the Kunene River on the Skeleton Coast of Namibia make Serra Cafema an idyllic spot for its privileged guests. The 8 beautifully designed canvas and thatched suites are built on the banks of the Kunene River overlooking Angola. The River meanders through the vast Kalahari Desert creating a moving oasis of lush riverine forest and a magnet for the thirsty and dusty wildlife. The camp has been sensitively designed to blend seamlessly into this exceptional scenery.
Serra Cafema Camp successfully combines rustic and understated luxury. The wooden and thatched main areas sit, quite literally, on the banks of the river in amongst the reeds under large trees. There is a comfy, sunken lounge, an al fresco dining area, bar, curio shop, library and plunge pool all with great views of over the Kunene River.
Activities on offer at Serra Cafema allow guest to explore the diverse and fascinating landscapes and eco-systems of the region. Nature drives and quad biking through the rolling dunes or drives and walks into the Hartmann’s Mountains or a visit to the Himba community are all on offer here making this a tremendously thrilling and beautiful camp to visit.
For my part, I travel not to go anywhere, but to go. I travel for travel's sake. The great affair is to move.
