The Mushara Outpost

Pamper yourself with a huge dollop of old-fashioned charm at the Mushara Outpost located just 10km away from Etosha National Park and within the private Mushara Reserve. The elegance and old-worldliness of the main farmhouse contrast gracefully with the 8 lovely tented suites which are spacious and contemporary. 

The owners, Marc and Mariza Pampe have successfully crafted a relaxed yet sophisticated atmosphere and a warm and friendly welcome is a given. The main areas are cosy and inviting and furnishings are in keeping with the traditional farmhouse theme. Dining is around a long dining table for communal eating or for those wishing a little privacy, dinners can be arranged at separate tables. Outside of the farmhouse is a swimming pool with a selection of deckchairs. There is also a small curio shop. A small hide close to the property is a great spot to relax and enjoy the local birdlife.

There are eight classic safari-style tented suites which have been built using canvas, glass and wood. Each is raised on a wooden decking and a large glass sliding door leads into the delightfully decorated, light and airy tent. Windows are floor to ceiling – and there are fly-screen protectors on all panes. Air conditioning, an open-plan en suite with glass walls and a large open shower space can be found in each tent. The minimal furnishings add to the traditional feel and each tented suite has a safe, mini bar, tea and coffee, telephone and hairdryer. 

Safari activities available at Mushara Outpost include game drives into the nearby Etosha National Park, bush walks in the reserve and the waterhole, a few metres away from the lodge, sees a good variety of wildlife including lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, Zebra and springbok to mention a few.
