Chitwa Chitwa
Sabi Sands Private Game Reserve
Privately-owned by Charl and Maria Brink, Chitwa Chitwa is a superb lodge overlooking one of the largest watering holes in Kruger’s Sabi Sands. The lodge is in the far north of the Sabi Sands, the more private and exclusive area of the National Park where the game viewing is world-renowned, especially for leopard and lion sightings. Chitwa Chitwa attracts an incredible array of wildlife and for those looking for an ultra-chic, action-packed, back-to-nature safari, this is a fantastic choice.
The décor here is contemporary – the Italian owner is an artist and her sleek style shines through in her choice of designer furniture and decorations. There are 10 vast suites, most of which come with their own plunge pools overlooking the watering hole, perfectly located for game viewing from your private timber deck. Each suite showcases a beautiful blend of earthy African style and contemporary Italian chic but all are different in layout and design, decked out with stand-alone baths, ornate mirrors and chunky rugs. The main lodge has a variety of dining spots under the trees and salas; inside there is a charming bar, a large open fire and cosy sofas. There is also a spa room for pampering massages post-safari or if you want to skip an early morning game drive!
