This award-winning Private Game Reserve provides an authentic African Safari Experience close to Cape Town. Less than a four-hour drive from Cape Town International Airport, along spectacular Garden Route, Gondwana is set in a 26,000 acre private game park. The reserve offers a distinctive, luxurious and malaria-free safari destination where the Big 5 safari animals (lion, buffalo, elephant, rhino and leopard) roam freely. In addition to the Big 5, the herds of wildlife are plentiful and diverse and impressive. Herds of eland, giraffe, hippo, cheetah and zebra can all be seen from the specially adapted and open game drive vehicles. All game drives are led by expert Game Rangers whose passion and knowledge of the wildlife and the surrounding area is outstanding. Other activities on offer at Gondwana include mountain biking, bush walks, Africology spa treatments and the popular Junior Ranger Program for families travelling with young children.

Accommodation is offered in Kwena Lodge, a modern and luxurious twist on the traditional Khoi-San dwelling. 14 open-plan suites are nestled into the breathtaking natural surroundings with 180-degree views, sky lights for star gazing, fireplaces and deep baths in which to relax upon returning from an evening game drive. Family or group accommodation is provided in 12 spacious and luxurious bush villas (3- and 4-bedroom configurations), which are privately situated, each with spectacular, uninterrupted views from their expansive wooden decks. 

In addition to Kwena Lodge and the villas, Gondwana has recently opened the tented Eco Tented Camp. With only 5 en-suite tents, the camp is small and intimate and offers the guest an exciting and immersive 5 night conservation experience for those looking to get more involved in Africa on their safari. You will learn and be involved in the wildlife, bush management and learn important bush and interpretation. A great choice for the more adventurous!

Lastly, the fabulously stylish and exclusive Ulubisi House offers three luxurious guest suites provide accommodation for 6 adults or 4 adults and 4 children. Guests at Ulubisi House enjoy a full complement of staff exclusively including a chef, Game Ranger and butler. Situated in its own 1000 acre reserve within Gondwana, privacy, exclusivity and outstanding game viewing are guaranteed.
