Earlier this week Jessica put this fascinating itinerary together, which embraces the beauty of Ladakh in the North of India. Ladakh has one of the most dramatic landscapes in the whole of India; a plateau surrounded by Himalayan peaks. The culture is no less extraordinary with a series of colourful festivals taking place during the summer. With the predominant religion being Buddhism, there are numerous monasteries, such as the Shey Monastery in Leh, to visit and enjoy. One of the best ways to appreciate this region is on foot and this itinerary includes plenty of opportunities to do just this. Staying in local hotels, village homes and campsites, there are endless walks, monasteries to explore and even whitewater rafting for the more adventurous. Each day's activities have a certain amount of flexibility and a private guide is always on hand to discuss your plans. This holiday is purely a suggested itinerary. It can be booked as is or alternatively used as a starting point for creating your own bespoke trip to Ladakh.
Ampersand know this area unlike anyone else and can talk you through your options with real passion. If you wish to find out more about our Himalayan Heights...
