We love this quote - whatever your politics, it's hard not to love Boris, don't you think? It's hardly surprising that the ever bumbling yet enthusiastic London mayor enjoyed this experience - ziplining over the majestic Meherangarh Fort is, we think, one of the highlights of visiting Rajasthan. The backdrop is spectacularly dramatic and the Batman reference is particularly apt because scenes from the new Batman movie were filmed in this exact location. Built in the 17th century by Maharaja Jaswant Singh, the fort is 400 feet high and whizzing across each of the six zipline wire routes provides splendid views of the fort's ruins and emerald green moats beneath you, as well as the stunning ‘Blue City’ of Jodhpur in the distance – perfect for daredevil sightseers and definitely the most spine-tingling way to see Jodhpur.
You will be strapped into your harness and told to put your head to one side of the wire and pull your knees up towards your chest as you zip across the line… those that don't adhere to these techniques may end up spinning round and round or lose momentum which will leave you dangling mid-line just as Boris Johnson did in London on his comically ill-fated zipline stunt to celebrate Team GB's first Olympic gold! But don't worry, you can always use your gloved hands to pull yourself along the line towards the wooden ramp.
