Ampersand's foodie favourites: Asia on your front doorstep
At Ampersand we love food almost as much as we do travel and any occasion that can combine the two is a winner in our books. In keeping with our foodie theme we thought that we would share some of the Ampersand Travel team’s top recommendations for Asian restaurants in London. We believe that food is one of the best ways to experience a country’s culture and customs and these culinary hotspots are a great way to make you feel as though you are on the other side of the world!
Our top picks from around London are:
Ellie: For a funky Indian Ellie recommends Mint Leaf, Haymarket or for a Chinese that would impress the Emperor Ming himself, Royal China, Baker Street.
Catriona: If you are looking for comforting Thai food then head to Rosa’s, Soho. Catriona recommends the battered calamari for starter and says the beef massaman is to die for!
Louisa: More upmarket than your average local Indian, Louisa recommends The Painted Heron, Chelsea.
Sacha: Food is Sacha’s passion and whilst she could recommend an A-Z’s worth of restaurants her top pick would be the C&R Restaurant, Chinatown, for delicious and authentic Malaysian food – something found too seldom in London.
Mark: The menu changes every day at Hunan, Belgravia, Mark’s recommendation for quintessential Chinese food, but he assures us that whatever it is, it will make your mouth water!
Megan: If you are looking for simple but tasty Indian food with a smile, Megan recommends Dishoom, Covent Garden, or for (in her opinion) the best dim sum in London try Opium, Soho.
