2024 Hottest Hotel Openings
It’s been another wonderful year of adventures and unforgettable travel at Ampersand. In this blog post, we highlight some of the hottest hotel openings we’re excited about for 2024, from a luxury safari camp in Botswana to a secluded lakeside paradise in China.
Aman Nai Lert Bangkok, Thailand
Amid the skyscrapers of central Bangkok, Thailand’s first urban Aman hotel and residences will rise from the verdant Nai Lert Park. Designed by Jean Michel Gathy, with wraparound views, open-air terraces and an innovative central atrium, the 36-storey building will offer 52 suites and 50 residences, alongside exceptional leisure and entertainment facilities.
Banyan Tree Dongguan Songshan Lake, China
Situated between Lingnan and Songshan Lake, Banyan Tree Dongguan Songshan Lake will have 141 spacious rooms and suites, as well as 18 villas offering panoramic mountain views. Guests will be able to enjoy a range of facilities, including the world-renowned Banyan Tree Spa, Banyan Tree Gallery, lakeside infinity pool, fitness center and yoga room, two restaurants and the enriching and colorful Rangers Club.
Regent Bali Canggu, Indonesia
Located on Canggu Beach, Regent Bali Canggu draws inspiration from contemporary Indonesian fashion and culture, blended with traditional craftsmanship. The resort will feature 150 suites and villas, four restaurants and bars serving authentic Balinese cuisine, and the world’s first Regent Spa with hydrotherapy pool and fitness studio.
Six Senses Forestias Bangkok, Thailand
Nestled in its own purpose-grown forest in Bangna, Six Senses The Forestias will offer a complete escape and connection with nature – yet within easy reach of Bangkok. The 27 residences are set around an enchanting woodland lagoon, each with a private pool, rejuvenating onsen and organic gardens where seasonal fruits and vegetables can be grown. The onsite leisure and wellness amenities are accessible via a treetop canopy walk through the forest that will be home to over 500 different species of plants and animal life.
Tawana Camp, Botswana
Tawana Camp will form part of Natural Selection’s portfolio of high-end lodges across Botswana. Created together with Chief Tawana Moremi, chief of the Batawana tribe, this new camp is set in the wildlife-rich Moremi Game Reserve and is 100% solar-powered. There will be eight thatched suites, each with a private terrace, plunge pool and uninterrupted views of the Gomoti river and surrounding grasslands. With a very high density of predators including wild dogs, leopards and lions, guests will be able to enjoy some of the best game-viewing Botswana has to offer. For downtime between game activities, Tawana will feature a well-equipped gym, 16m pool and an intimate spa offering bespoke facial and body treatments and holistic wellness journeys.
The Homestead, Nambiti Game Reserve, South Africa
The Homestead is an ultra-luxury eco-lodge on the Nambiti Private Game Reserve in South Africa. The Homestead will offer twelve suites, six of which will be suitable for families, and the entire property can be booked for events. Guests can look forward to game drives in electric vehicles, sundowners on deck watching the animals at the waterhole, stargazing, cooking classes with amazing chefs and bathing in the waterfalls of the nearby Drakensberg mountains.
Atzaro Okavango, Botswana
The latest property from African Bush Camps, Atzaro Okavango is an eco-friendly safari camp offering sustainable luxury and unforgettable wildlife encounters in the heart of the Okavango Delta. In keeping with its strong eco-principles, the camp is built with recycled materials and fully powered by solar energy. Atzaro Okavango will have 10 luxurious rooms, a wellness spa, fully-equipped gym and a 20m swimming pool. Activities will include morning and afternoon game drives, walking safaris with armed guides as well as boating and mokoro excursions.
