A colonial cottage which dates from 1909, the Amara Mountain Resort is easily the best hotel in town, and certainly the most charming. Set slightly out of Kalaw on a small hill surrounded by evergreen forests and snuggled amidst traditional English-style country gardens, an organic vegetable patch and fruit orchards, this is a beautiful and charming property that feels much more like a home than a hotel. Rooms in both cottages have wooden floors, working open fireplaces and homely details; staff are also very eager to please. Wifi is available.
