The Amara Ocean Resort stretches along the pristine shoreline of Ngapali Beach on the west coast of Burma. The 28 spacious and luxurious beach bungalows are purposely built all by hand in teak wood, providing unique accommodation which compliments the surroundings, beach, and the many palm trees and nearby villages. The rooms are scattered amongst the surrounding palm grove, so all guests are guaranteed privacy from their terraces which overlook the Andaman Sea and the Rakhine mountains. The resort has two spas, indoors and outdoors, a swimming pool, a bar and restaurant. The restaurant serves a combination of European and Burmese cuisine, as well as fresh seafood and fish from the local fishing markets. There are also local seafood restaurants close to the hotel which are well worth trying.
I can't think of anything that excites a greater sense of childlike wonder than to be in a country where you are ignorant of almost everything.Bill Bryson
