Popa Mountain Resort
Bagan
Popa Mountain Resort is perched on the steep hillside peak of Mount Popa. Situated 2,500 feet above sea level, the scenery is simply breathtaking giving an unobstructed view over central Burma’s green, and far reaching plains. Within its panorama is the Popa Taung Kalatt monastery built at the top of an extinct volcano, and accessible by a 777 step climb to the top. It is an enchanting sight to behold.
The Popa Mountain Resort has three categories of wooden cabin-style room, the best being those that look out to the monastery. The rooms are rustic and befitting to its natural environment, yet also cosy and comfortable and the perfect place to relax after a day hiking the hills. The highlight of this hotel, in addition to leafy walkways and lightly manicured grounds, is the hilltop infinity pool in prime position at the edge of the resort.
The hotel's facilities include a hillside restaurant, viewpoint bar and spa. There is also a 9-hole golf course just a 20-minute drive away. This is an idyllic retreat for those wanting to get back to nature and explore the untouched Burma (Myanmar) countryside.
When preparing to travel, lay out all your clothes and all your money. Then take half the clothes and twice the money.
