Raffles Hotel Le Royal
Established in 1927, this distinguished hotel played host to royalty, journalists and globe trotters during Indochina's colonial heyday. Restored by the Raffles group in 1997, this soothing oasis in the heart of Phnom Penh is located perfectly for easy access to the sites while being off the main roads for relaxation away from the bustle of this lively city. The rooms and suites are on 3 floors in the original buildings which look out onto courtyards and the 2 swimming pools. Decorated in colonial style with Cambodian objets d'arts, the rooms have valet service and views either on to the street or the gardens. The Elephant Bar is one of the iconic bars in Phnom Penh and has a 'highest heel' competition every Thursday.
