Located on a small private island off the Cambodian coast, Six Senses Krabey Island is a haven of rest, relaxation, and rejuvenation.

Spread over 30 acres, the exclusive resort has 40 individual villas that all come complete with private pools. Our favourite suites have to be the Oceanfront Pool Villas as their prime position adjacent to the ocean means that they offer spectacular views, especially at sunrise or sunset. Due to the island's small size, the warm seas are always just a few steps away. The design of the villas and the resort as a whole is much in keeping with the Six Senses brand in that minimalism is key and all the architecture subtly blends in with the local environment. The villas are very private, and if preferred one does not even have to leave the comfort of their own room!

In typical Six Senses style, the property's focus is its spa, which is inspired by the sacred Kbal Spean river. Spa users, or indeed anyone that wishes to adhere to a detox programme, are first encouraged to attend a health check with the resident doctor - who is trained in traditional Asian medicine - before receiving a recommended programme of rejuvenation. Of course, the spa is not the only reason to visit the resort; there are many other ways to relax and to enjoy the beautiful scenery of blue seas and lush green tropical vegetation on the island. We recommend the watersports here, from kayaking to snorkelling, as venturing into the ocean is bound to be a highlight of your stay.

Back on dry land, the horizon lap pool and sundeck area both make for ideal places to relax and sunbathe, and as the day draws to a close visit the sunset bar, where you’ll catch the impressive red glow of the exotic sunset with a cocktail crafted by the talented bar staff in hand. Later in the evening, enjoy a classic film at the outdoor cinema while the waves gently lap the shore in the background.

Sumptuous cuisine can be had at one of the two restaurants that serve Cambodian, international, and fusion cuisine; and for those with a sweet tooth, there is a complimentary and very extensive ice-cream parlour to feast at!

Six Senses Krabey Island values environmental sustainability hugely; not only does the resort has its own vegetable garden which produces much of the kitchen’s vegetables and herbs, but its water is also locally-sourced from the onsite bottling plant, using reverse osmosis to purify the water.

The town of Sihanoukville lies nearby, making it easily accessible from other parts of Cambodia, yet far enough away from the mainland to give the feeling of real seclusion and exclusivity: bliss.

Six Senses Krabey Island is the perfect place for a relaxing stay after a busy cultural tour of Cambodia, and can easily be combined with a stay in the Cardamom Mountains, just a couple of hours away by road, or Siem Reap, which is only a short flight away.
