The Laomadian Lodge Hotel is a basic but comfortable small hotel built in traditional Bai style in the centre of Shaxi. Laomadian Lodge in Shaxi signifies an Inn for old horses and it was used to lodge caravan owners travelling on the Tea-Horse Caravan Road, from Xishuangbanna to Tibet and further, transporting and trading mainly tea, but also other merchandises like salt, silver, copper etc. The hotel offers 9 rooms which come with a private bathroom and also a restaurant.
