Located in the far south of the Yunnan province, Jinghong was the historical capital of the former Tai kingdom of Sipsongpanna (Xishangbanna). Bordering Pu’er City to the north, Mengla County to the east and Menghai to the west, as well as Burma’s Shan State to the south, Jinhong sits in the middle of some truly diverse regions. The Mekong River traverses the area, which flowing south-east towards Laos. Become truly lost exploring the nearby villages, meeting the local villagers and minority ethnic groups.
