Bhutan & the Maldives with COMO Resorts
12 days from £11,340 for 2024 per person
This bespoke itinerary combines two contrasting but equally beautiful destinations; the astonishing mountain ranges of the Himalaya and the powdery white sand beaches of the Maldives, all the while staying in the luxurious comfort of COMO Hotels.
Begin you journey in the tropical valley of Punakha. This valley is blessed with fertile farmlands. Patchworks of orchards roll down the wide valley to the banks of the Pho Chu and Mo Chu rivers, which gently carves its way through the mountain peaks. At 1,300 metres, Punakha is lower than other areas of Bhutan, which means you will have a chance to acclimatise before moving on to your next stop.
The alpine valley of Paro is perhaps one of Bhutan’s most beautiful. Often referred to as the gateway to Bhutan, in Paro you will get a true sense of the rich culture, scenic beauty and the hundreds of myths and legends that are linked to Bhutan. Paro valley is also home to one of Bhutan’s most iconic landmarks, the Tiger’s Nest, an awe-inspiring temple constructed upon a sheer cliff face, 900 metres above the valley floor.
Depart and find yourself basking in the gloriously warm climate of the Maldives, famous for their astonishing pure beaches and gin-clear waters. While away the days in the shade of palm groves, swinging in a hammock or snorkelling beneath the waves.
This is purely a suggested itinerary, so it can be booked as it is, or used as a starting point for creating your own luxury tailor-made tour of Bhutan and the Maldives. To my mind, the greatest reward and luxury of travel is to be able to experience everyday things as if for the first time, to be in a position in which almost nothing is so familiar it is taken for granted.
