The Golden Triangle and Rajasthan is a classic itinerary for first time visitors to India, but after 25 years of planning holidays to India, we feel that everyone has been doing it the wrong way around! We have put together this exclusive itinerary of the traditional route, but in reverse!

India can be overwhelming, especially for first visitors, so we have planned this itinerary to give you a soft landing, time to relax and soak in the culture change at a gentle pace. You will begin the tour at the Taj Lake Palace, possibly India’s most romantic hotel, and one of our favourites in Rajasthan. The 273-year-old white marble palace, floating like a mirage in the centre of the serene Lake Pichola, will be your base in the beautiful and tranquil lake city of Udaipur. You will then head north to the regal Rajput city of Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan, staying at the former royal residence of the Maharaja Sawai Man Singh II, Rambagh Palace. Next, it's on to the uber-luxurious tented camp in Ranthambore National Park staying at SUJÁN Sher Bagh, where you will have the chance to track elusive tigers.

Leaving the jungle and Rajasthan countryside behind, you will continue to the buzzing city of Agra home to the majestic Taj Mahal, the jewel in the Mughal crown, and the impenetrable Agra Fort. The Oberoi Amarvilas is situated in the most phenomenal location, just 600 metres from the Taj Mahal, and is the best hotel in Agra, renowned for its unsurpassed luxury and style - the perfect spot to relax after exploring the bustling tourist hotspots. Your journey ends in in Delhi - historic, vibrant, majestic and intense, a visit to Delhi is a heady experience! Discover the city’s many layers of history and architecture, and explore a world of contrasts; from the bustling Chandni Chowk of Old Delhi to the tree-lined avenues around Connaught Place of New Delhi. You will be staying at The Imperial, a landmark hotel located in the heart of New Delhi, exuding style and elegance.

Day 1 - The Oberoi Udaivilas - Udaipur
Arrive and transfer to your hotel. Afternoon at leisure.
Day 2 - The Oberoi Udaivilas - Udaipur
Morning sightseeing tour of City Palace and the local markets. Spend the afternoon at leisure.
Day 3 - The Oberoi Udaivilas - Udaipur
Spend the day at leisure, with an evening sunset boat ride.
Day 4 - Rambagh Palace - Jaipur
Morning fly to Jaipur. Afternoon guided city walk followed by evening private elephant safari and dinner.
Day 5 - Rambagh Palace - Jaipur
Morning visit the City Palace, Observatory and Hawa Mahal. Spend the afternoon at leisure.
Day 6 - Rambagh Palace - Jaipur
Morning visit Amber Fort & Amer. Afternoon at leisure.
Day 7 - SUJÁN Sher Bagh - Ranthambore
Morning drive to Ranthambore National Park. Afternoon game drive.
Day 8 - SUJÁN Sher Bagh - Ranthambore
Morning and afternoon game drives.
Day 9 - The Oberoi Amarvilas - Agra
Drive to Agra. Afternoon sunset visit of the Taj Mahal.
Day 10 - The Oberoi Amarvilas - Agra
Visit the Taj Mahal at sunrise followed by sightseeing tour of Agra Fort & Baby Taj. Spend the afternoon at leisure.
Day 11 - The Imperial Hotel - Delhi
Morning drive to Delhi. Afternoon sightseeing of Old Delhi.
Day 12 - The Imperial Hotel - Delhi
Morning at leisure. Afternoon visit Sikh Temple & Humayun's Tomb.
Day 13 - In transit.
Transfer to the airport for your onward flight home.

Getting to Amanpulo from Manila was very simple and the beach was the most beautiful I’d ever been on; pristine white sand, not a single piece of rubbish in sight.
