In the evening, embark on a sunset tour of Prambanan Hindu temple, a lasting tribute to the Hindu epics and their fearsome gods. The next stop will take you on to Borobudur to discover this ancient shrine to Buddha, and a popular place for Buddhist pilgrimage. This UNESCO World Heritage Site will not fail to impress. The best time to visit the temples is at sunrise, an utterly unforgettable start to your day.
Fly to Surabaya and visit the breathtaking Mount Bromo, and from there take a scenic drive along the north eastern coast until you reach the impressive Ijen Plateau. One cannot help but be amazed by the dramatic landscape here. Trek into the crater of Mount Ijen to see the ethereal Blue Fire before spending a few days recovering from your adventures at the charming Puri Ganesha.
