Alexa is one of Ampersand's Top 10 Luxury Sailboats.
Mixing the traditional with the new, Alexa is a classic Indonesian sailing vessel built exclusively for two, and furnished with original teak, glass and stainless steel. Appointed with primitive sculptures and well chosen antiques, the furniture throughout is custom-made and locally sourced. Measuring 31 metres Alexa was built by hand and once carried cargos of spices between Sumba, Flores, Sumbawa and Sulawesi. Now docked at Flores and home to a single magnificent suite, the crew of 7 customise every cruise ensuring a one of a kind voyage.
The boat consists of three decks each with its own distinctive purpose. The upper deck is perfect for al fresco dining or sleeping under the stars during warm nights, while the main deck is host to the living and dining area, TV lounge and master cabin. The kitchen and personal bar, library and five crew cabins are situated on the lower deck. The sole suite aboard Alexa boasts large wraparound windows with 270 degree panoramic views of the ever changing landscape. In addition, the airy master cabin comprises of a queen-sized bed, en suite bathroom, double wardrobe, air conditioning and a balcony, ideal for private relaxation.
Tailor-made gourmet meals prepared by the chef using the freshest of ingredients straight from the sea are on the menu daily. The bar is fully stocked with the best wines and spirits from around the world and can be enjoyed above deck or on a pristine deserted beach with just the local wildlife for company.
Customised itineraries are created by the crew and the cruise director is on hand to arrange trips to remote islands, tribal villages, waterfalls and turtle beaches. Guests can take part in yoga, meditation and healing with Alexa’s holistic master and wind down with tailored spa treatments from award winning therapists. The crew also consists of a PADI accredited diving instructor who teaches scuba diving and other specialities including photography, deep and night diving. Surfing, fishing and snorkelling are some of the other pursuits that can be enjoyed in this natural and unknown Indonesian archipelago.
