Hotel de la Paix
Hotel de la Paix fuses colonial charm with contemporary elegance. Built on a heritage site, against a backdrop of green mountains, the newly designed hotel carefully preserves the site's architectural heritage. Formerly the city's prison, the hotel maintains heaps of its original character, with parts of the original building now reincarnated as distinctive features: the old entrance gateway heightens the sense of arrival, and guests can dine in the former Guard's Tower, overlooking the site. Beautiful old trees have also been preserved and integrated into the landscaping. At the same time, the hotel's newer buildings, designed to be in-keeping with Laos architecture, and the contemporary Asian interior design, make Hotel de la Paix one of the most luxurious and sleek hotels in Luang Prabang. Large courtyards and landscaped gardens create a sense of space, whilst the individually-designed suites offer private sanctuaries of sumptuous comfort.
