Mountain Quail Birding Lodge
Almora
Himalayan vistas and alluring wilderness at Mountain Quail Birding lodge bewitch all those who travel to Pangot. Run by Sid Anand, who resides in the Kumaon Hills, Mountain Quail has a homely yet outdoorsy feel to it and is committed to conservation and protecting the environment. The clue in the title rings true, Mountain Quail is ideal for our bird watching enthusiasts. Spotted forktail, redbilled blue magpie, Kaleeje, Golden Eagle and Himalayan Friffon are a few examples of the many species you can expect to see.
The lodge is comprised of four cabana style suites all with en suite facilities. Wooden and simple, the suites have a back-to-nature feel to them which is wholly appealing, the perfect excuse to retract from technological pressures of modern society. In the restaurant, local Kumaoni chefs prepare exquisite local dishes and are just as happy to provide continental options too, with both cuisines on the menu. Mountain Quail is fantastic for the wilderness wanderers as the area boasts multiple activities from trekking to horse safaris.
