    Discover Luxury South Africa Holidays

Welcome to South Africa, a land of colossal contrast and eye-watering beauty. Be prepared to be completely over-awed by this epic country which gives you thronging cosmopolitan cities, incredible game-viewing and world-class beaches. It is a country that gets under your skin.

Perhaps it is the unforgettable, heart-soaring colours, from the deep ruby red of the Kalahari desert as the sun dips behind a shifting sand dune, to the white of the squeaky-soft beaches of the Eastern Cape, or the green forested hills of the pretty Garden Route.

It is also a country of astonishing wildlife. In Kruger National Park you'll watch the fight for survival play out and bring home memories of the dusty shake of a lion's mane, the delicate pattern on the neck of a giraffe reaching high up into a mimosa tree and the tenderness of an elephant mother shepherding her calf. When the migrating whales come in to Walker Bay in Hermanus you'll witness 80 tonne mammals breaching and slapping the water with their vast tails, whilst you enjoy the show from the shoreline.

Natural beauty is ever-present in South Africa, and at every turn you'll be amazed by its diversity. High up on the Drakenberg mountain range you can absorb mind-expanding vistas before hiking through its rocky spires, rolling forests and mist-drenched waterfalls. During springtime on the East Coast, the sight of a million multi-coloured spring wildflowers rolling down to the Atlantic Ocean will make your heart sing. And below the surface of the gin-clear Indian Ocean on the South and East Coast, coral gardens shimmer as its resident turtles, rays and sharks swim by.

South Africa is a land of diverse heritage too, wrapped around a civilisation spanning 2000 years, as seen by the San Bushmen rock paintings, the Zulu villages in KwaZulu Natal, and the Dutch colonial architecture visible in the churches and grand government buildings. These days, the cities are a melting pot of culture - a place to view and buy African art and artefacts, enjoy live music or sample fantastic seafood in top-quality restaurants, of course accompanied by not-to-be-missed South African wines. And when it's time to lay your head, you can be assured of the finest choice of boutique hotels, luxury safari lodges and traditional Dutch farmsteads.

Sometimes though, it's the little details that will remain with you - an alfresco shower under the stars, the pause when you watch a thick column of driver ants cross your safari path, or the taste of a smooth Pinotage to accompany your beach braai. Quite simply, South Africa is an epic adventure. Trust us, you won't want to leave.
