Evolve Back Kuruba Safari Lodge
Evolve Back Kuruba Safari Lodge is one of Ampersand's Top 10 Safari Lodges in Asia.
Located on the edge of the River Kabini, in the heartland of the Kadu Kuruba tribe of the Nagerhole forest, Evolve Back Kuruba Safari Lodge provides an unexplored and untouched wildlife experience. Kabini borders both the Bandipur and Nagerhole National Parks where there is an abundance of wildlife to be seen, from plenty of elephants to the elusive tiger and leopard. Thanks to its waterside location, this is also a bird-spotter’s paradise – there are over 250 different species, ranging from migratory and native, to be seen flitting around here.
Evolve Back Kuruba Safari Lodge is an incredibly picturesque resort and has been created in an authentic village style, inspired by the Hadis (tribal villages) nearby. Each of the 30 well-appointed huts are incredibly spacious and offer understated luxury with a hint of safari style. All the villas come complete with a comfortable living room, bedroom and en suite bathroom as well as a private courtyard, with either a Jacuzzi or plunge pool.
For dining, guests of this safari lodge can choose between two restaurants; The Kuruba Grill - which offers a buffet menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner (included in your room rates), or Honey Comb - an intimate à la carte restaurant. Other huge pluses of this hotel include complimentary Wi-Fi throughout the property, an Ayurvedic spa and a beautiful adult’s only infinity pool; not to mention a children’s pool area - making this hotel an ideal place to stay for a family adventure holiday. We also recommend this retreat for those seeking an experiential and romantic honeymoon in rural India as it is a perfectly-located peaceful oasis, which is bound to be memorable.
The friendly staff here are constantly at hand to help and are happy to assist you to make your stay as special as possible, especially the safari guides. Make sure to embrace the array of excursions here, from jeep and boat safaris to nature walks with a naturalist expert. As night falls, we recommend joining the evening activities on offer at this lodge: witnessing a troupe of Kuruba tribal dancers performing their traditional dance around a campfire is not to be missed as it is a real highlight of a stay here.
