Port Blair
Port Blair is a small town and the main trading hub of the Andaman Islands. It's often necessary to spend a night here when returning to main land India and there’s plenty to do including a visit to the cellular jail and checking out the anthropological museum. There's also a nice harbour and if you are desperate for a little more sand beneath your toes there is a beach just outside town, although it isn't up to the same standards as the famous Beach Number 7 on Havelock Island.
